What started out as day devoted towards religious feasts to honor the patron Saint of Ireland, has turned into an all day and sometimes weekend celebration of Irish culture. This holiday is observed in cities around the world and often include festivals, parades, food, drinking and of course, tons of green.

Dublin, Ohio is the place to be if you live in central Ohio. It has been a tradition for thousands of people since the 1980’s. This year their celebrations fall a little earlier on March 12th. They start the day with fun activities for kids and lots of food. The Greenest, Grandest St. Patrick’s Day Parade Begins at 11am that includes entertainment, local celebrities, and giant inflatable balloons. The celebration doesn’t end there, the day continues with more activities, food, and entertainment all day long. Columbus is also home to “Ohio’s Largest St. Patrick’s Day Party.” Flannagan’s in Dublin is celebrating their 20th Anniversary St. Patrick’s Day Celebration. It’s so big they need two days! Saturday, March 12th and Thursday, March 17th Flannagan’s will have an indoor and outdoor stage filled with entertainment to last the whole day and night. Cleveland is also home to a rowdy and festive St. Patrick’s Day parade. The parade is put on every year by the United Irish Societies of Greater Cleveland. The parade takes place every year on St. Patrick’s Day. Many people take off work and spend the day downtown. Hundreds of people pack the rapids full and make the journey downtown to crowd the streets and watch the parade with family and friends.
Cincinnati’s Division 3 Hockey Team is bringing back their St Patty’s Day Celebration game. The Cyclones game is home on March 18th and 19th. The Cyclone’s will be wearing themed St. Patrick’s Day Jerseys and they will be auctioning off jerseys at the end of the game.
